If you’re sick of the stark white walls, polished concrete floors and hipster vibe of many of Bandung’s cafes, you could always try Abraham & Smith for something a little bit different.
Located in the same complex as the original Kozi Lab down on Jalan Gudang Selatan, Abraham & Smith is a no frills coffee shop in an old warehouse. It feels less hipster than Kozi Lab and a little dirtier. It feels good! Most of the furniture here is basically just old crates and barrels chopped up to make tables and chairs. The service area is a jumbled mess of steel, wood and manual brewing tools. It’s wild!
The cappuccino I had here was way better than I expected. If I hadn’t watched the guy make the coffee, I would have sworn he used an espresso machine. But he didn’t. Everything on the stove top including the incredible textured milk. Top marks. This coffee shop unashamedly caters towards people who are looking to nongkrong, smoke, drink coffee and perhaps have a game of cards. It has loads of style for such a place I really love it.Give it a try.
