Lula Bakery is a small cafe attached to the Glosis restaurant on Jalan Citarum. It seems that Glosis saw all the new coffee shops in Bandung and wanted to get in on the action. And they’ve done a reasonable job of entering the Bandung coffee scene, but they still have some way to go.
I ordered a cappuccino and it cost an eye watering Rp35.000. It’s one of the more expensive coffees in Bandung and to be honest, it was nowhere near the best. Actually, it was quite a decent coffee, but with so much fantastic coffee in Bandung these days, it takes a lot to be in the top ten.Susan ordered a peppermint tea which was just a Dilmah tea bag and cup of hot water — Rp28.000. Sorry, but that is unacceptable. If you are charging Rp28.000 for tea, it absolutely must be special. Not a Dilmah tea bag. It’s a relatively cozy cafe with decent tables and chairs to work at. In fact, the wifi was quite fast when I was there clocking in at 13mbps down and 9mbps up.The smoking area out the front is going to appeal to a lot of people, but the real problem is the price of drinks, especially the tea bag and hot water. You can’t expect people to come here and nongkrong when you’re charging so much.
